After the trailer was constructed, it was tested to verify its key characteristics and the functionality it possesed.

The first test performed was a weight test to verify the weight that was acting on the trailer hitch was within the range laid out in the design requirements. The results of this test are upper picture at the left. After using a calibrated spring scale and a frame to take the measurements, the measurements were averaged and the final percent load occuring on the hitch was calculated. As it turns out, this test resulted in a positive feedback in comparison to the design requirement. The final resulting weight on the trailer hitch was about 11% of the weight, which is very much between the requirement of 10-15%.

The second test performed was essentially a field functionality test. This test consisted of using the trailer in its intended duties and recording and noting any issues or complications that were visible during its operation. These records and notes could be used to adjust the trailer design to fix the issues. An excerpt from the recordings from the functionality test is available from the video show on the bottom left of this page.
